Daphne Palasi Andreades Brown Girls
Victor Manibo The Sleepless
Albert Samaha Concepcion
Daphne Palasi Andreades' debut novel BROWN GIRLS is, as author Raven Leilani says: "an ode to girlhood, inheritance, and the good trouble the body yields". It's a New York Times Editors' Choice and was so good that CUNY Baruch College, her alma mater, picked it for their incoming freshmen to read. Daphne was born and raised in Queens and holds an MFA from Columbia University, where she was awarded the Henfield Prize and a Creative Writing Teaching Fellowship. Her fiction often explores diaspora, immigration, and the far reaching effects of colonialism and imperialism.
“A daring debut... FEARLESS.” —New York Times
Victor Manibo's debut science fiction noir novel THE SLEEPLESS explores grief, exploitation, and deceit in a futuristic capitalist society. It's a Buzzfeed Highly Anticipated Thriller for 2022. Victor is a Filipino speculative fiction writer and a 2022 Lambda Literary Emerging Voices Fellow. Specializing in constitutional and civil rights law from Cardozo School of Law, he spends his workdays defending immigrants from being removed from the country. As a queer immigrant and a person of color, he writes about people who live these identities and navigate the world in his fiction.
"A tale of insidious, corporate-capitalist implications . . . and the human consequences of a life without dreams." -- Booklist
Albert Samaha's latest book, CONCEPCION, was a finalist for the 2022 National Book Critics Circle Award in Autobiography and received a Whitling Foundation Creative Nonfiction Grant. An ARK team required reading, Concepcion, interweaves the personal with the intricacies of colonialism and geopolitics. Albert teaches journalism at his alma mater Columbia University. His stories are so powerful and well researched that they have led to freeing a wrongfully convicted man from prison and pushed Congress and six states to pass bills strengthening police sexual misconduct laws.
"Absolutely EXTRAORDINARY... A landmark in the contemporary of the diaspora." —Jia Tolentino, author of Trick Mirror
Don’t hand out. CO-INVEST alongside families who are hungry and want to produce their own food for life.
Because of colonization and chemical farming, farmers in the Philippines and many places in the developing world are left with just 1 crop. Rice or corn.
It is not enough income to feed their families.
With Russia invading Ukraine, it has caused synthetic fertilizers to triple in price. 1 bag is equal to one families’ income during tag-gutom, hunger season, which coincides with their first cropping.
Many farmers did not plant. The hunger crisis just turned into a food insecurity crisis for the entire nation.

Feed Back is a vegetable exchange that inspires families to farm in their backyards.
In 5 weeks families are sourcing nourishing food from their home. By 16 weeks, at the end of the program, families are supplying all the food needs of the village and selling to nearby villages and towns. Malnutrition is eliminated. Communities are happy, united and investing in each other.
